STEM Fleet Forward Career Skills: Effective Communication
This career skill prep course will introduce you to how to communicate effectively by using appropriate words, use of body language, and tone of voice. Identify different types of effective body language, understand the difference between military and civilian communication, identify different types of communication, know how to use appropriate communication in different situations, and identify active listening skills.
STEM Fleet Forward Career Skills: Entrepreneurship
This career skill prep course will introduce you to the entrepreneurial lifestyle, how mindset impacts potential success and failure, how business concepts are formed, researched and launched, the fundamental principles of marketing and branding, the fundamental principles of business finance, and effective business communication strategies.
STEM Fleet Forward Career Skills: Financial Planning
This career skill prep course will introduce you to how to choose a college that is right for you, get the best Return on Investment with Higher Education, budget your personal finances while in college, research ways to pay for college using the GI Bill and other funding, and ensure your future is secure with a retirement and savings plan.
STEM Fleet Forward Career Skills: Interviewing Skills
This career skill prep course will introduce you to preparing for an interview, how to act and respond during an interview, and how to follow-up and best practices to take after the interview. A successful interview comes with preparation, practice, and confidence!
STEM Fleet Forward Career Skills: Networking
This career skill prep course will introduce you to recognizing and defining what networking is and what it is not, developing a network, identifying a few key associations/organizations for networking, creating a two minute pitch, and creating a social media presence.
STEM Fleet Forward Career Skills: Resume Writing
This career skill prep course will assist you in translating your military experience into civilian terms that an employer will recognize and appreciate! In this course you will create a basic resume from your military experience, create a cover letter, identify the proper format of a resume and content to include, recognize when to use a Chronological and Federal resume, and recognize the different types of cover letters
